گیاهان خودرو
This series grows out of my long-standing interest in the visual study of calling up and re-creating memory—how it appears, lingers for a while, fades, and then returns again and again, often unexpectedly.
Wild plants are a metaphor for this state: they are not planted; they grow wherever they wish—often in unpredictable places—and they disappear just as quickly. Their delicacy and vulnerability to light, heat, and time remind me of remembering itself: sudden, fragile, uncertain, and yet stubborn.
Working with wild plants and using lumen print, cyanolumen, and cyanotype techniques, I looked for a way to show a phenomenon whose presence is brief, yet persistently returns and regrows.
These works are traces of memory’s surge—colorful marks of recollection held in light; an attempt to show something that is always on the edge between presence and absence: that narrow space between forgetting and remembering.
این مجموعه از دلِ علاقهام به مطالعهی تصویریِ احضار و بازآفرینی خاطره شکل گرفته است؛ اینکه چطور ظاهر میشود، مدتی میماند، محو میشود و بهصورتی نامنتظر بارها و بارها برمیگردد.
گیاهان خودرو استعارهای از همین وضعیتاند: کاشته نمیشوند؛ هرجا بخواهند رشد میکنند (اغلب در جاهایی پیشبینیناپذیر)،... و زود هم ناپدید میشوند. نازکی و آسیبپذیریشان در برابر نور و گرما و زمان، مثل یادآوری است: ناگهانی، ترد و شکننده، نامطمئن، و در عینحال لجوج... .
در کار با گیاهان خودرو و استفاده از تکنیکهای لومنپرینت، سایانولومن و سایانوتایپ، بهدنبال روشی بودم برای نشان دادن پدیدهای که عمر ماندنش کوتاه است؛ اما سماجت زیادی در بازگشت و رویشِ همواره دارد.
این کارها ردهایی از هجوم خاطرهاند؛ نشانههای رنگارنگ یادآوری که در نور ثبت شدهاند؛ تلاشی است برای نشان دادن چیزی که همیشه در مرز حضور و غیاب است: همان فاصله باریک بین فراموشی و یادآوری.
